Road safety and driver behaviour in South Africa

Car insurance indirectly encourages good driving behaviour which is great for road safety. Furthermore, car road worthiness is a must for insurance companies. Unfortunately, this still doesn’t guarantee accident-free roads.  For most, insurance premiums are a financial burden but a financially savvy person would find decreasing insurance premiums as a bargain!

Luckily, South Africa has a wide range of insurance companies, but in terms of value for money, King Price stands out with their decreasing premiums benefit.  What this means is, a road user has 1 less increasing monthly expense whilst enjoying the peace of mind of being covered in the unfortunate of a road accident.

In South Africa, 1 714 fatalities were recorded during the festive period of 2016, which is a 5% increase on the previous period in 2016. The Minister of Transport at the time, Dipuo Peters also raised concerns on the incompetence of some drivers and the number of road-unworthy vehicles on the roads she observed during her spontaneous visits to road blocks sites.
